Annan Anonymous

Wes Roth and the UK Telegraph called it; Secretary General Kofi Annan has now done it:

But in his response to the report he is expected to go much further in distancing himself from his son. UN officials are privately briefing that he has never had a close relationship with his son and that he is exasperated by his behaviour.

Expectations were just confirmed during Kofi Annan’s press conference today in which he called out the lions on son Kojo by indicating him as the major fall guy in Oil for Food and by drawing a bad-guy-good-guy comparison between his son and himself and painting himself into the role of convincing his son to cooperate.

Kofi in response to one reporter’s question intimated that his son was thus far refusing to cooperate.

Kofi as well strongly asserted he doesn’t plan to step down as Secretary General. The question which most have already for some time been asking is whether his anticipated and now realized unfatherly ruse will in the end protect him from the consequences of his own involvement. Judging by watching the news conference, Kofi will do anything to see to his own protection, and if that be the case it certainly paints a picture about his character which ironically would make it easy to visualize him at the helm of such corruption.

I hate it when these ugly family conflicts get dragged into public. Maybe he'll make him do a DNA test, lol

Or maybe we'll see them both on COPS then four months later on Court TV as Saddam turns state's evidence against them...Then the clincher when Kojo turns out to really be Bagdad Bob's son.
