Water World Saga: No Honor Among Thieves

A possibly significant rift emerges between Governor Blanco and New Orleans Mayor Nagin.

In an interview on Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto this afternoon, the Louisiana governor contradicted statements by the mayor that residents of New Orleans would be removed by force, if necessary. Governor Blanco told the reporter that she had not signed off on the forced evacuation and was still reviewing it. Further, she indicated that the mayor could not enforce a mandatory evacuation without her consent.

This sets the two Democrats at stark odds and seems to indicate particularly by her intonation that there may be not the warmest relations between the two offices, both equally as nutty.

I have to wonder if this is a sign of things to come between the governor’s office and anything or anyone who threatens Kathleen Blanco's political career. But then I remember that fine tradition of Democrat Louisiana governors.

Who knows, maybe Blanco just wants to call on on her good buddy In-Fidel Castro to enforce the evacuation.
