Power to the People: Cuba Libre!

AP

Here are a few newswire photos from the celebrations already beginning especially among Florida’s Cuban refugee population. The theme: Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. Of course, no official word and Infidel Castrato may still be hanging by a thread above the raging flames of Dante fame, but to borrow an idea from somewhere else, I think we can be pretty sure it's an historic inevitability.

Look at the expression on the face of that grandma - stoic vindication. Her people will be free and she is witnessing the beginning of it.

So far I haven’t been able to find as many press photos made available for this historic sea change as for say, the Lebanese wounded. Now I wonder why that is…

A caption from one AFP photo (below) read: “A crowd of Cubans wave Cuban flags to passing cars as they celebrate in the streets of Little Havana, in Miami after hearing news that Cuban President Fidel Castro was ill. Ailing Castro, who has clung to power for 47 years as Latin America's only communist strongman, has temporarily ceded power to his brother Raul for the first time, after undergoing surgery.(AFP/Roberto Schmidt)”

"Temporary" he thinks, but unless Infidel Castrato is the first Communist to believe in an afterlife, he might wish to make other plans. Of course, being communists and therefore out of touch with reality, they could always stuff him and nail him down next to a palace window so people would still think he’s alive.

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!

The notion that the US, instigated by the Cubans in Miami and CANF, is going to go rushing into Cuba and "free" the Cubans is about the most foolhardy move by this administration that I could imagine. It will create problems far beyond anything we have experienced in Iraq.

Venezuela and a half dozen other S. American nations would commit to assist Cuba militarily and it could also include Russia.

The people of Cuba will determine their fate, not the Cubans in Miami, and if this administration back a Miami Cuban militia to war on Cuba that action could create a whole new population of terrorists from S. America.

The UN voted 180-4 against the US blockade of Cuba. The blockade is a bankrupt policy that is a complete failure and this administration intends to strengthen, not remove the blockade in the wake of Fidel Castros death. The blockade essentially put crutches under Castro all these years and to continue to pursue a failed policy, exacerbating it with the intervention of a warring militia will garner results exceeding any repercussions we have experienced from Iraq.
