Good 'Ol Boys Drinkin' Whiskey and Rye

Without honesty, popular government is a repulsive farce.”

— U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt

Honesty has been a part of American culture just as much as baseball and apple pie for as long as anyone can remember. It was sewn into our very cultural fabric hundreds of years ago, in fact. The wellspring of honesty and good character provided a source from which great men of noble hearts could rise up and both lead and obey the people of this country. Perhaps John McCain should look into that on the immigration issue, Mitt Romney on the abortion issue, Mike Huckabee on the tax issue, and Rudy Giuliani on the personal fidelity issue. And we shan’t even begin to delve into the duplicitous Democrats. Oh, did someone mention Ron Paul? Sure, he’s honest: honestly crazy; the same way Hitler was honest too. And crazy. Their throngs of followers are almost equally scary. Like Joe Dimaggio, America today is asking itself, “where is Newt?” and wondering if today is the day the honest good old-fashioned Reaganesque music finally died.

Ron Paul is a NUT. We're backing Fred, but if he drops out we are at a loss. No idea who we could support. Very sad.
