QOTD: Wiker on the Bloody Toll of Militant Atheism

Quote of the day…

“The greatest crimes in the history of mankind came not from those in thrall to the ‘illusion’ of Judaism and Christianity, but from those who claimed to be atheistic, scientific socialists. Yet despite this abominable evidence, Freud’s fairy tale account of religion remains, for all too many, a grand illusion too compelling to give up.”

– Benjamin Wiker, PH.D. from his book, “10 Books that Screwed up the World (and 5 Others that Didn’t Help)”, P 176.

Indeed, despite this abundance of abominable evidence, not only Freud but countless others who followed him until now, even after having witnessed that evidence in their generation, refuse to give up their mythology about atheism bringing the olive branch to a world bloodied by those who believe in God. This is because it was and is ultimately not about what’s best for the world at large, but for those who hold such ideas and keep them to guard against that personal and daily guilt that might otherwise plague their consciences – or at least to guard against giving any legitimacy to that guilt. Still, history itself and countless faithful books from The Diary of Anne Frank to the Black Book of Communism tell us the dirty rotten truth.
