Random Happenings

And now for a fun weekend roundup.

Yes, we do those and yes, they are comprehensive-ly capricious.

First up: Obama says AIG is like a suicide bomber. Clearly our brilliant Harvard law grad didn’t have to suffer as rigorous an LSAT (Law School Admission Test) as did I or countless others. We had a good bit devoted to logic. But then again I guess there’s Obamalogic:  If AIG is like a suicide bomber, does that mean Obama wants to turn its employees loose in the U.S. and let 'em keep their bonuses? Just talk to them, Barack; if Islamofascists aren’t evil, it’s difficult to make the argument with a straight face that investors are. Hat-tip: Hot Air.

Next up: Barack Obama makes horrendous gaffe about the Special Olympics during his interview with Jay Leno. I’m quite sure that by now we’ve all heard plenty about it. Suffice to say many of us are left with the same question: What's better than winning the Special Olympics, Mr. President? Not being retarded. It’s not so much that Obama made the silly and calloused remark, but just how juvenile that and the entire appearance on the Tonight Show actually was. In response to Obama’s apparent slam of those with special needs, one Special Olympian bowling champ fired back that he could easily beat the president. Indeed, in so many ways more than he knows...  Hat-tip: Breitbart.

Speaking of gaffes, let’s review the top ten gaffes of Obama-Biden so far, courtesy the Telegraph.

Eric Holder may just find out how “cowardly” Americans really are. This week the Attorney General known for being afraid to pay his own taxes said that some of the terrorists currently detained in Gitmo may soon be released onto American streets. With all the “bitter clingers” out here, something tells me this won’t end well for the terrorists.

Vlady Vladimirovich Putin was apparently present as a KGB agent cleverly disguised as a rigid, muscular, nervous tourist with cameras strewn around his neck and clenched fist during Ronald Reagan’s post-presidential visit to Moscow in 1989. Gorbachev (right) appears to be trying to tell Putin to chill. No one suspected a thing… The sad part is that he looked greatness in the eye and utterly failed to learn from it.

Related: In an eerily similar but undated photo also with a red circle (and square), Vladimir Putin's runaway dog appears to be sighted fleeing his tyrannical owner. alleged complaints: brutal repression and inexplicable forced belly kisses. The dog is said by experts likely Putin's due to his noticeable Russian-dog-trying-to-look-East German-trying-to-look-Russian appearance. The aging dog was of course later replaced by a younger, more svelte tiger, given to Mr. Putin for his birthday last year. Hat-tip: Blogbat 2004

Socialized Harmcare Update: apparently no hospital conditions are bad so long as all of the commoners experience it at the same time. The British Government’s National Health Service is apologizing for the inconvenience unplanned funerals have been for the families of former patients, however, noting that at least Europe is still morally superior, since it still doesn’t believe in the death penalty for the guilty.

Money quotes: "What we saw in those eight weeks will haunt us for the rest of our lives. We saw patients drinking out of flower vases they were so thirsty… There were patients wandering around the hospital and patients fighting. It was continuous through the night. Patients were screaming out in pain because you just could not get pain relief… It was like a Third World country hospital. It was an absolute disgrace." Said a 47-year old family member of one of the victims.

In a statement, NHS recognized that people have busy schedules and that unplanned deaths can become quite annoying. However, NHS did point out the upshot of all of this is that those families saved more money than the average person does who switches to Geico.
